HOW TO GROW BEAUTIFUL AFRICAN VIOLETS

African Violets are such a joy to grow and once you understand the simple demands that they insist upon, then they will reward you with beautiful blooms all year round.

There are Five Essentials for Success:

LIGHT:
The most important to promote flowering. Light should be as bright as possible, but
without strong sunlight. Protect your plants from direct rays of the sun with a net/lace
curtain. If the light is too strong, the leaves of your plant will turn yellow and the leaf
edges will dry up.

Please come back again next week for another Essential.

TIP OF THE WEEK
If your African Violet turns brown in the centre, particularly the young plants.

Sprinkle some Cinnamon Powder on to the centre of your plant, (yes, the
Cinnamon that you use for Toast and Egg Custards) which will absorb the
excess moisture and new leaves will grow through the centre.
When next you water, try not to get water on the crown, as this is what
has caused the problem.!!!
